Klan Member Shaun Patrick Winkler Running For Bonner County Sheriff In Idaho As A Republican

Update May 15th: Election results being posted HERE; Shaun Winkler enroute to a distant third-place finish.

Another White racial activist is running for elective office. The Coeur d'Alene Press reports that Shaun Patrick Winkler, identified as a member of the White Knights of the Ku Klux Klan, wants to become Bonner County Sheriff.

First, Winkler must get past incumbent Sheriff Daryl Wheeler and Ponderay Police Officer Tim Fry for the Republican nomination on May 15th. If he survives that contest, he would face independent Rocky Jordan in the November general election. Winkler is concerned about the increasing federal reach into Bonner County, believing that the FBI should have no jurisdiction at the county level, and has a zero-tolerance attitude towards drugs and sex offenders. Recognizing that his oath of office would require him to serve all the people without fear or favor if elected, Winkler says he will not advance a white separatist agenda if he’s elected. But he's unapologetic about his racial philosophy. Update March 19th: KXLY Channel 4 aired a more detailed story on March 19th; video embedded below:

It's possible the Bonner County Republican Central Committee might try to throw Winkler a curve, though. In the Huckleberries Online blog, Shoshone Conservative cites Article IX § 1 of the GOP State Rules, which states "County Central Committees may determine the political affiliation of candidates filing or declaring an intent to file as Republican candidates for county political offices". According to Article IX, this means the committee could declare Winkler not to be a Republican, and disavow any connections with him, but it's unclear if they could keep him off the ballot.

Winkler, who is originally from Pennsylvania, had lived in Hayden before moving to Priest River in the fall of 2011. Both a political activist and a business owner, he most recently protested the annual Martin Luther King Jr. event held at North Idaho College on January 13th, and also got some attention for picketing Mexican food carts in Coeur d'Alene in 2011. When Kevin Harpham was revealed as the MLK Day backpack bomber in March 2011, Winkler immediately dissociated himself and his group from Harpham, saying that they had never heard of Harpham, and he most likely acted as a "lone wolf." Winkler further explained that the White Knights do not encourage violence because it is counter-productive to their message.

Winkler has no campaign website at the moment, and no way to receive campaign contributions if he desires them.

Just wanted to say R.I.P. John Demjanjuk.

It is to the shame of the USA that an American citizen was taken from his home- at age 90 no less- and handed over to the corrupt authorities of the nation formerly known as Germany.

All for some ridiculous show trial to promote the "Holocaust" myth.
At least now Mr. Demjanjuk doesn't have to deal with this misery any more. Yet another big black mark against this garbage bin of a republic, the Jewnited States of America.

That's funny considering the KKK is labeled as a terrorist group here in the United States. So how in the hell could he be elected as a sheriff?
