The number of declared Jews in the United States Congress is about to shrink from 39 to 38. On February 7th, 2011, California Congresswoman Jane Harman (D-Tel Aviv) announced her intent to resign her U.S. House seat barely three months after she was re-elected, although she did not give a specific date. Primary local story published by the Los Angeles Times; national stories by the Washington Post and CNN. Discussion thread on Stormfront.
Notwithstanding my snarky little reference above, Harman actually represents California's 35th Congressional district, encompassing an area from Venice to El Segundo to Redondo Beach to Torrance. There'll be a special election to replace her; already, prospective successors are staking their claims, including California's newly-minted Secretary of State Debra Bowen and L.A. City Council member Janice Hahn, who posted her announcement HERE. Politico speculates that a third person, Marcy Winograd, may jump in as well. Governor Jerry Brown has two weeks to set the date for the special election to fill Harman’s seat, and the general election must be held within 135 days.
Although the sudden resignation, so soon after her re-election, has raised some suspicions of chicanery on her part, Rep. Harman is set to succeed former Rep. Lee Hamilton as head of the Washington-based Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars. Rep. Harman notified her constituents of her decision by e-mail, saying in part "This is an excruciating decision because the distinction of representing the smartest constituents on earth will never be surpassed – nor will my relationships with my exceptional staff and colleagues in Congress. But shaping and leading the Wilson Center is a thrilling new challenge."
Harman, 65, has held the seat for all but two years since 1992. She gave up the seat to run for governor in 1998, losing a primary to Lt. Gov. Gray Davis. Two years later, she ousted the man who had replaced her in Washington, Republican Rep. Steve Kuykendall. Harman's district has grown to be a reliably Democratic seat. President Obama won the district in the 2008 presidential race by 30 points, which implies that a Democrat will be favored. Harman had a reputation for being a Blue Dog centrist Democrat, although she was a hawk on Israel.
In 2009, Rep. Harman became embroiled in a scandal which broke out when it was revealed was overheard on an NSA wiretap telling a suspected Israeli agent that she would lobby the Justice Department to reduce espionage-related charges against two officials of the American Israeli Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), the most powerful Jewish lobby in Washington. Harman was recorded saying she would “waddle into” the AIPAC case “if you think it’ll make a difference,” according to two former senior national security officials familiar with the NSA transcript. In exchange for Harman’s help, the suspected Israeli agent pledged to help lobby Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), then-House minority leader, to appoint Harman chair of the Intelligence Committee after the 2006 elections, which the Democrats were heavily favored to win. Furthermore, back in October, 2006, Time reported that the DOJ and FBI were investigating whether Harman and AIPAC "violated the law in a scheme to get Harman reappointed as the top Democrat on the House intelligence committee" and "the probe also involves whether, in exchange for the help from AIPAC, Harman agreed to help try to persuade the Administration to go lighter on the AIPAC officials caught up in the ongoing investigation."
Looking at the comments section of the L.A. Times story, it almost looks like a discussion thread on Stormfront. I can't remember so many people naming the Jew in a mainstream media story before. I commend the L.A. Times for refusing to censor them. Here's a sampling (after the jump):

Censorship In South Africa: South Africa Sucks Blog Taken Down Once Again, South African Anti-Racist Rendier Gouws Believed Responsible
Update February 20th: More troubles for South Africa Sucks; updated post HERE.
Update February 9th: South Africa Sucks back online:
http://www.zasucks.net/ (corrected link)

If any one tells you that Wordpress doesn't engage in political censorship, don't you believe it. The incisive and popular South Africa Sucks blog has been taken down once again, most likely sometime during the day on February 7th, 2011. There is a South Africa Sucks backup blog on which are archived some old posts; the most recent is from October 2008.
The blog's cache reveals that this was the last post before it went down:
They have an issue with some whigger clown named Rendier Gouws, who launched an anti-racist diatribe against South Africa Sucks on a recent edition of The Rendier Show. Rendier claims SAS promotes "hate speech", and he doesn't recognize "hate speech" as free speech. On the YouTube channel, Rendier, who also has a personal website, specifically urges viewers to report the blog, which means it's likely he's responsible for the demise of SAS. The diatribe begins at the 2:34 point of the video embedded below:
An examination of the SAS cache also shows that there were some risque graphics and images posted recently; none of them pornographic, but probably risque enough to give Wordpress another excuse to pull the plug.
Another South African pro-White blog, Censorbugbear, provides some details:
The SAS cache also reveals that SAS sensed there was a threat to their blog. On February 7th, they said that if they got ToS'd, they would resurrect SAS once again and leave their new website address on buddy blogs like Tia-Mysoa, Why We Are White Refugees, I Luv South Africa, African Crisis, PRAAG, ozziesaffa, etc. One of SAS's editors, Mike Smith, confirms his intent to resurrect SAS on Mike Smith's Political Commentary.

The rageblog South Africa Sucks has been taken down once again by its internet host. I guess the truth dished out in outrageously rude dollops is just too hard to take for some people.
{snip}
The latest reason for censoring them off the internet probably is the determined rage they maintained this past week with their typical boerboel-like tenacity against internet hero, Rendier Gouws. They believed that Rendier was in denial of the genocide targetting his own Boer nation and provided several examples of why they believed this – including his apparently ignoring the horrific murder of boer child Willemien Potgieter, (right) picked up by her red hair by a ‘black youth’ who then fired a bullet through her skull and dumped her on top of her mother’s body, who was executed just before. Baby Willemien’s father was hacked to death with pangas on their farm. Some people believe executing the baby was directly related to the antiwhite hatespeech chant coined by two ANC supporters in Port Elizabeth in May 2010: “One Bullet – One White Infant’.

National Socialist Movement Planning A Rally In Trenton, New Jersey On April 16th, NSM Spokesman Jason Hiecke Denies The Group Is Racist
Ed Note: Because previous posts about the NSM, the ANP, and the ANSP have been plagued by trolls and flaming, I am disabling comments for this particular post. Most of the previous comments perpetuate negative biases and stereotypes about national socialism and inflict damage upon the Cause. This can no longer be permitted. While I don't like censorship, I don't intend to allow people to make us look like fools.
Although there's been no details yet posted on the NSM's website, the Times of Trenton reports that the National Socialist Movement is planning to hold a rally in Trenton, New Jersey on April 16th, 2011. The rally will occur at the same time that Thomas Edison State College will hold a commencement at the nearby War Memorial. Other media sources include the Star-Ledger; links from additional sources embedded throughout the post.
The original source of the information is the NSM's New Jersey leader, Jason Hiecke. Hiecke said the NSM will host a two-day conference in the area from April 15-16, to include a rally of up to 150 people on April 16th. The rally will take place in front of the Statehouse, and State Police have already issued the NSM a permit. NSM Presidential candidate Brian Holland may also show up.
Hiecke also took the opportunity to explain the NSM and debunk exaggerated and erroneous information spread about the group. Hiecke described the event as a political rally, and disputed the characterization of his group as racist. "We're all considered racists or white supremacists, but that's not what most of our members are about," he said. Hiecke also objected to the description of the group as neo-Nazi, saying the NSM is different from the German World War II NSDAP and does not deny the Holocaust. However, he expressed doubt about the number of Jews who were murdered in the Holocaust and described himself as a white separatist.
Hiecke further outlined a host of other bread-and-butter issues of concern to everyday citizens, including outsourcing of jobs, overspending on foreign aid, illegal immigration, excessive legal immigration, a revolving-door criminal justice system, and the double standard on hate crime reporting in which White crimes against non-Whites are more likely to be considered hate crimes than the reverse. To make their program even more relevant to New Jersey residents, the NSM also plans to speak out against New Jersey political corruption, confiscatory New Jersey property taxes, and child molesters who are still allowed to go out in public despite wearing ankle bracelets. From experience, the NSM is obviously learning how to maximize the relevancy of their program to the general population; you can't be serving up liver and onions if the public clearly wants steak and potatoes.

Opposing Noise And Litter In Your Neighborhood Is "Racist", According To The Predominantly-Black North Side Old Timers In Pittsburgh

Representatives of the North Side Old Timers in Pittsburgh have characterized community opposition to the group's annual Unity Gathering as "racist", without providing any objective evidence backing up their claim. References for this post include the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, and WDUQ News.
Background: The North Side Old Timers is a predominantly Black group that sponsors a "Unity Gathering" at West Park each summer. However, in September 2010, nearly three dozen people who live near the 38-acre park, part of Allegheny Commons, signed a petition saying that events there are too noisy, damage the park with vehicles and equipment, interfere with the community's use of the park and leave it strewn with litter. Petitioners asked City Council to review how the city issues permits and enforces the rules for events. The petition didn't target the Unity Gathering by name.
So the issue came up for a public hearing during the Pittsburgh City Council meeting on January 31st, 2011. Despite the fact that the Unity Gathering has not been specifically targeted by name, advocates for the Unity Gathering immediately became defensive and played the race card. William D. Thompkins, one of the founders of the North Side Oldtimers, said "Yes, preventing the Unity Gathering from occurring is about race". Old Timers supporter Jennifer Russell also said that the problem isn't noise or trash, but about race and about control.
The Post-Gazette revealed the real problem. While those who spoke our about problems at the park were White, most of those speaking out for the Old Timers were Black. Many Black leaders consider criticism of Blacks to be racially motivated, even when race is not the issue. Any racial disparity unfavorable to Blacks is labeled "racist".
Predictably, Allegheny West Civic Council President Tim Zinn said the group's request isn't born from racism, but a desire to address their concerns. Of course, Zinn doesn't yet realize that charges of racism directed against Whites are usually not because any racism actually exists, but merely used as a red herring to distract from the main issues. Thus any pro-White activism in Pittsburgh can be best directed towards encouraging Whites to ignore or deflect accusations of racism. Before Whites can become racially conscious, they must overcome their fear of being called racist, and learn how to turn that into an asset.
Carole Malakoff said that various events of varying sizes have caused problems at the park. One of the most egregious examples cited was the fact that one group brought in a petting zoo. Because West Park is also used as a dog park, the problems of bringing in a petting zoo are immediately obvious.
James Edwards of The Political Cesspool has also picked up the story.

Jared Taylor Caves In To Political Pressure, Cancels The 2011 American Renaissance Conference; Online Version To Take Place
Update: Even though the American Renaissance conference is now cancelled, an online version will take place. Post re-titled to reflect the new information.
Note: All previous posts on the 2011 American Renaissance Conference available HERE, with the most recent post displaying first.
February 1st, 2011 may go down as a day of infamy -- for the snooty "valuable intellectual properties" who look down their noses at street activists and national socialists within the White Nationalist community. For it is the day that Jared Taylor surrendered to political correctness and canceled the 2011 American Renaissance Conference altogether.
The first indication of a complete cancellation came from WSOC Channel 9 and WCNC Channel 36. WSOC reported that Stephen Webster, the assistant editor of American Renaissance, confirmed on Wednesday February 2nd that the conference, which was planned for this weekend, has been canceled. WCNC also used the term "cancelled" in their report.
But I was uncertain whether this indicated a complete cancellation. So I researched further, and found the smoking gun published on Counter Currents Publishing. Yes, Jared Taylor has completely caved in:
The fact that Taylor is offering refunds does NOT mitigate the infamy. At least in 2010, they held a rump conference in a local restaurant in Virginia. But Taylor isn't even making a token effort this time. They could have, as a symbolic gesture of protest, conducted a one-day open air conference in front of a public building or at a public park in Charlotte to show that they would not be silenced. Here's how VNN Forum webmaster Alex Linder, who led a rally in Knoxville in 2007, would have handled it:
But Taylor chose to surrender. No wonder Alex Linder characterizes Taylor as a "polished turd"; perhaps Linder is right, but for different reasons than those he specifies. Taylor knew that this possibility existed, and failed to account for it. When's the last time you heard of the National Socialist Movement canceling a rally because of political pressure? When's the last time you heard of the American Nazi Party canceling one of their events because of political pressure? When the "suits" quit, the "boots" soldier on.
Jared Taylor has, in effect, sabotaged his own organization. Greg Johnson writes, "I think it highly unlikely that AR will be able to put on another conference. How many people are likely to be willing to set aside the time, make the plans, and shell out the money for the second or third time with the prospect of another cancellation hanging over their heads?" No kidding! The fact that Taylor may be a brilliant thinker, writer, and speaker who is rational, broad-minded, decent, and honorable and lah-dee-dah-dee-dah-dee-dah is NO LONGER ENOUGH! We need people who won't back down under pressure. Jared Taylor is simply incapable of going that far. Leo Durocher was right -- nice guys finish last!
And for that reason, Jared Taylor and American Renaissance are no longer worthy of white nationalist support, unless they sue the people responsible for harassing them. If Taylor wants to salvage anything from this debacle, he must sue the mayor of Charlotte for violating his constitutional rights and for tortious interference with a contract, and he should sue the hotel for breach of contract. AR’s list of subscribers or any other type of information is entirely irrelevant and is not subject to discovery.

Dear Conference Registrant,
I am very sorry to inform you that the AR conference scheduled for February 4 through 6 must be canceled. Despite strong assurances that it would not submit to pressure, the hotel with which we had initially contracted has broken its contract with us. We have investigated many possible alternative venues but have not been able to find one.
There is evidence that at least one elected Charlotte official was working behind the scenes to deny us a venue, and our legal counsel is looking into grounds for action against the city.
We are deeply sorry for the great inconvenience this causes you, and I apologize to you personally. As the head of the publication that organized this conference, the fault is entirely mine.
At your instruction we will, of course, refund all registrations and banquet fees.
Many of you will have bought non-refundable air tickets. Generally, the amount spent on such tickets can, for a period of a year, be used to buy a different ticket on the same airline. However, most airlines then deduct $150 from the amount that can be spent to buy the new ticket. If you bought a non-refundable ticket, please send us proof of purchase and we will send you a check for $150. We do not want anyone to suffer financial loss because of this cancellation.
We have heard that because of the impending storms, some airlines are offering full refunds on “non-refundable” tickets. This offer may not apply to tickets for February 4, but it may be worth inquiring.
We are considering alternative models for future American Renaissance conferences.
Again, please accept my sincerest apologies. We greatly value your continuing support, and deeply regret that we will not be seeing you on February 4.
Warm regards,
Jared Taylor
Update: We've now learned that there will still be an online version of the AR Conference. NPITV says that each originally scheduled talk will be remotely web-cast and filmed in high definition for subsequent download.

...the right and obvious thing to do is tell the people to show up at assembly point X, and then march over to the hotel, and then barricade it, if at all possible, screaming and shouting and demanding it comply with the contract. That is exactly how niggers would do it. Granted, the media would support the niggers, but IF The Turd dared on this path, he would achieve a good effect, and very possibly win the day. And even if it didn't work out, after the rally the people could all retire to some other public or private place and hear the same old boring lectures anyway. There are many ways to do the thing, giving up is the wrong option.
But Taylor chose to surrender. No wonder Alex Linder characterizes Taylor as a "polished turd"; perhaps Linder is right, but for different reasons than those he specifies.
