White Civil Rights Activist Kevin Alfred Strom Defends Greeley School Board Member Brett Reese, Suggests MLK Day Be Renamed "Freedom Day"

On January 14th, 2010, the Greeley Tribune reports that a man who was once a leading White nationalist activists has spoken out in defense of embattled school board member Brett Reese, and thinks we ought to rename Martin Luther King Day as "Freedom Day".

Kevin Alfred Strom, once a key figure with the National Alliance and subsequently the director of the breakaway National Vanguard organization (now defunct), was interviewed by the Tribune after publishing an essay defending Reese on his website. The Tribune's interest in Strom was sparked by the fact that much of the letter about Dr. King which was read over the air by Reese is based on Strom's now classic treatise about King, entitled "The Beast As Saint". The Tribune noted that Strom pleaded guilty to one count of possessing child pornography in a plea bargain and spent time in jail, but failed to explain why Strom pleaded guilty; Strom maintains his innocence to this day and his explanation is recorded and sourced in this post. Strom was desperately afraid that his wife, Elisha Strom, would get sole access to his kids; Elisha has become an unstable witch. So he made the deal in exchange for a short sentence.

Strom questioned the canonization of Dr. King into a secular deity, saying “King should not be treated as a god or a saint or a monarch. His statements and positions and actions should be open to criticism. … Controversy is good because it stimulates thought, debate and intelligent choice. America suffers from political correctness in a form so severe that it may well be terminal.”

Strom said excerpts from his speech tend to be used more frequently every year around the King holiday. He said he’s happy that his writing and research reaches wider audiences. But he said he doesn’t understand why Reese’s role as a school board member should matter. But Strom and Reese part company about the celebration of King Day. While Reese said he would support a holiday based on King’s accomplishments as a civil rights leader, but not based on the man. Strom said he would like to see a holiday supporting freedom for all.

“‘Freedom Day’ sounds like an excellent holiday to replace MLK Day,” Strom said. “Though freedom is becoming a rarer and rarer commodity these days in America, it could be a celebration of every people’s desire for freedom and self-determination. Freedom and self-determination are concepts that Marcus Garvey, among other black leaders, and Thomas Jefferson, among many of our own founding fathers, were for — but for which Stanley Levison and Martin Luther King were very much against.”

I'm not so sure that's necessary, though. We already have a day that accomplishes the same objectives as "Freedom Day". It's called the Fourth of July, and we celebrate our country's independence. What we need to do is get rid of the holiday altogether, and restore Washington's Birthday as a national holiday. Lumping the founder of the country in with every other President in a generic "President's Day" disrespects Washington's special status.

As for Brett Reese, he continues to distance himself from Kevin Strom and the White Nationalist community. Reese said he does not support white supremacy. He said he does not know Strom and has never talked to Strom. He said he doesn’t know anything about Strom. He maintains that his station has always rotated commentary that runs for several weeks at a time, and this commentary is intended only to spark debate on the character of King, not on his accomplishments or the civil rights movement.

In other related news, Greeley police served Brett Reese with a restraining order on Thursday January 13th. Officers were acting on a request filed by Greeley radio station KFKA owner and General Manager Justin Sasso, who claimed that Reese called his station and threatened a “shoot out". This sounds like nothing more than a red herring.

How sad that so many WN 'leaders' all have this shit in their backgrounds. And hold all that 'innocent' bull, every con inside is 'innocent'! LOL No innocent person pleads guilty to such disgusting charges. And I don't believe for a minute that Strom 'cared about his kids...', didn't he send off his little autistic son to be in a Zog hell-hole, because he didn't want to be bothered having to care for him? Why does this site always try to white-wash the defects of losers who get exposed? These creeps certainly are NOT representatives of me OR the white race! WPWW

Boy, what a freak to be associated with! I'm sure the jews love having ol'Kevin to whip out as a 'typical WN leader and spokesperson', being a self-pled-guilty child molester... Personally, in my all-White society, Strom would be fed into a wood grinder, the scumbag along with all the Scheops, Mullets, and other disgraces to the Aryan folk.

Paul Mullet is another disgrace besides Schoep and Roper and Duke.

Before you start calling people in this group and that a disgrace, take a minute and think about something. There are a lot of people who call themselves leaders or would like to think of themselves as such. If just for a week they had any time in the spotlight, imagine what the press would do to them. Before you go clawing down anyone who has worked harder than you, smarter than you, consider this. If you were there in the center stage, what would our enemies do with you? Oh the disgraces! Who are you? The Jew's cheerleaders? Just think for a minute if they had enough time and man power to go after everybody, even the small fish safe in their mail-order fishbowls?

And the lies you help spread, did your honor ever allow you for a minute to consider the source? Not for a minute, apparently.

6:09PM I don't understand your reasoning, Kevin Strom, David Duke, and most of these 'others', PLED GUILTY to the obcene charges that they faced , hence THEY ADMIT THAT THEY DID IT. No one is 'clawing them down', their behavior is what brought them down. Because of your being an apoligist for their behavior, I wonder what skeletons YOU have in YOUR closet? WPWW!

Wait until you are forced to make a plee deal or lose years off your life. When you stand in their shoes in front of a court, then you can be judge and jury of them when you get out. If you haven't been charged with anything or done any real time, then you have no room to talk.

2:58PM I guess what you are saying is - wait until you burglar a fellow White man like Schoop did, or you swindle your followers out of their donations to gamble with like Duke did, or you hunt little White kids being a pedo like Strom did..."and you'll be in their shoes". Damn! Thats the exact "excuse" TRAITOR GLENN MILLER uses, when asked about why he turned and testified against the Order brothers after they gave him a quarter of a million liberated monies. Otherwords, don't JUDGE scum, if your a decent, upstanding White citizen!

I've read the whole story of what happened to Strom from several sources and I am not even close to being convinced the man did anything wrong. When you have a voice in White Nationalism that is heard and speaks the truth, you have a massive target on your back, and I've seen many good men get hung out to dry and lose EVERYTHING because they were helping bring the truth to light. This includes Strom, Duke, Zundel, Hale, Doles and others. You've got to consider the sources here. Don't jump on this bandwagon to bash these men too quickly. I'm quite sure the great William Pierce would not have taken Kevin Strom under his wing for years if he was some low life pedophile.
