Like many other groups, the White Nationalist community has reacted to the shooting of Arizona Democratic Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords. Major discussion threads can be found at the following sources:
-- Occidental Dissent, "Giffords Shooting"
-- Stormfront, "Arizona State Rep Gabby Giffords, shot at political event"
-- Vanguard News Network Forum, "Breaking News: Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords Shot This Morning"
-- White News Now, "Congresswoman Giffords Shot in Arizona, 19 total shot, six dead"
-- White News Now, "Establishment Media Demonizes Tea Party and Constitutionalists After Giffords Shooting"
But another White Nationalist source has been dragged into it by the establishment media, based upon a memo published by the Department of Homeland Security. The Fox News Channel reports that a law enforcement memo based on information provided by DHS and obtained by Fox News shows an alleged connection between Jared Loughner and American Renaissance, although Fox nominally concedes that it's unclear if he was directly affiliated with the publication or group. According to Fox News, the memo states that there is no direct connection between Loughner and the group, but strong suspicion is being directed at American Renaissance, and that the suspect is possibly linked to this group through videos posted on his MySpace and YouTube account. Fox News also regurgitates SPLC propaganda about American Renaissance, claiming it is anti-government, anti-immigration, anti-ZOG, and anti-Semitic. Here's the complete memo as posted by Daily Kos; I have bolded and italicized the applicable portion:
"The investigation has been taken over by the FBI, and is being run through the Tucson Command Post. Here's what can be confirmed at this time (1800 hrs)... * Gabrielle Giffords Is in ICU.* Federal judge John Roll is deceased. He did rule on a 32 million dollar civil rights lawsuit in February, 2010. That ruling brought death threats to Roll and his family, and for a time he was given a protection detail.* 6 deaths attributed to the shooting. 19 total people hit by gunfire.* suspect’s mother works for the Pima County Board of Supervisors* the suspect has multiple arrests ... But no criminal record? Intervention by someone?* no direct connection - but strong suspicion is being directed at AmRen / American Renaissance. Suspect is possibly linked to this group. (through videos posted on his myspace and YouTube account.). The group’s ideology is anti government, anti immigration, anti ZOG (Zionist Occupational Government), anti Semitic. Gabrielle Gifford is the first Jewish female elected to such a high position in the US government. She was also opposite this group’s ideology when it came to immigration debate.* DHS have a list of names and dates of birth of all victims.* the ACTIC is still playing a major role in the investigation... Computer forensics is cleaning up the surveillance videos, and images from around the scene, and involved in the investigation - working together, was MCSO, DPS, Phoenix PD, ICE, and of course the FBI. It did just come in from the command post, that the federal judge was Not originally scheduled to attend the meeting, according to wife. She stated that he received a phone call about an hour before and was invited to attend. Wrong place - wrong time. For the planning side, there are impromptu memorials popping up all over the state, but the largest one is downtown phoenix, at the capital."
Of course, the allegation that American Renaissance is "anti-Semitic" is so ludicrous that it can be dismissed straightaway. Jared Taylor not only does not admit to the existence of a Jewish Question, but even considers Jews who look White to be White. Jews are fully welcome at the American Renaissance conferences. Taylor is so Semitophilic that VNN Forum webmaster Alex Linder repeatedly questions his White Nationalist credentials. Even the SPLC's gay Jew Mark Potok, the director of their Intelligence Project, denies that Jared Taylor is anti-Semitic, although he does smear AR as being "white supremacist". Fox News video story embedded below:
In response, Jared Taylor told Fox News that he had never heard of Loughner until Saturday January 8th, and when he checked AR's records going back 20 years, he found no record of any subscriptions for Loughner to American Renaissance publications. He added he has no indication that Loughner ever attended any of the group's events, which have been held on the East Coast where the organization is based. American Renaissance is preparing for their upcoming 2011 Conference, to be held February 4-6 in Charlotte, NC; details HERE
Taylor also denied references to the group as being anti-ZOG. "That is complete nonsense. I have absolutely no idea what DHS is talking about. We have never used the term 'ZOG.' We have never thought in those terms. If this is the level of research we are getting from DHS, then heaven help us," he said. You can read Taylor's complete response at American Renaissance.
Nevertheless, the mere linkage of Jared Loughner with American Renaissance has brought the usual hard-left progressive extremists out of the woodwork. But even Daily Kos and HuffPo appear somewhat skeptical about the origin of the memo. So this merely drives home the point that Fox News is not to be considered more "trustworthy" merely because it puts up a conservative front. All the national media must be considered suspect, because all of them are dominated by the same group of insiders -- the group which has sought to control both sides of the debate since the national media was created.
