Stormfront Gains New Member Today Because Of Michigan Negro Congressman John Conyers And His HR40, A Slavery Reparations Exploratory Bill

The greedy, avaricious, parasitical African-American civil rights lobby is driving white people to the White Nationalist cause faster than Dr. David Duke, Don Black, Erich Gliebe, Alex Linder, and Jeff Schoep combined. Just today, a 43-year-old white woman registered and posted on Stormfront for the very first time.

And her reason? According to the thread she started, Congressman John Conyers (D-MI) and his proposed HR40 are responsible. She sees no end to the progressive political oppression of America's white community. She is beginning to understand that each time we make a concession to black and brown civil rights thugs and their secular-progressive Jewish handlers, they soon come back with their hands out for more. She has undoubtedly seen how the successful demonization of the swastika has led to the current campaign to demonize the Confederate battle flag. And she's had enough.

What is HR40? Submitted on January 6th, 2009 and entitled "Commission to Study Reparation Proposals for African-Americans Act", it proposes to create and finance a seven-member commission "to acknowledge the fundamental injustice, cruelty, brutality, and inhumanity of slavery in the United States and the 13 American colonies between 1619 and 1865 and to establish a commission to examine the institution of slavery, subsequently de jure and de facto racial and economic discrimination against African-Americans, and the impact of these forces on living African-Americans, to make recommendations to the Congress on appropriate remedies, and for other purposes". The bill is co-sponsored by Rep. Robert Scott (D-VA), Luis Guiterrez (D-IL), and Jewish Rep. Steve Cohen (D-TN).

Three members of the commission will be appointed by President Obama, three by the Speaker of the House, and one by the President Pro Tempore of the Senate. The commission members are likely to be favorably disposed towards reparations in advance, since the bill specifies that "all members of the Commission shall be persons who are especially qualified to serve on the Commission by virtue of their education, training, or experience, particularly in the field of African-American studies". The bill calls for the appropriation of $8 million to fund its activities.

The Washington Watch website discusses this issue, and offers the public a chance to cast a vote. So far, 94 percent of respondents have voted against this bill, which implies that even some blacks are voting against it, even if for no other reason than they fear the potential backlash against their community should a reparations bill pass.

Proponents of reparations believe they could be pursued on the basis of Tort Law. Two notions serve as the basis of all torts: wrongs and compensation. At a high level view, it can be easily determined what group of people were wronged during slavery and who was negligent. However, proponents cannot resolve the issues of specifically identifying the plaintiffs and defendants (who have all been dead for years, anyway). To resolve the latter problem, some proponents believe the United States government should be held responsible for paying reparations. They argue that, although the actual slaves are long since dead, their descendants have been deprived of the opportunity to accumulate wealth over time and this continues to have a negative impact on African-Americans today. They also say that the Civil Liberties Act of 1988 signed by Ronald Regan set a precedent for reparations. Finally, they believe that slavery was a crime against humanity and those affected by its results should be compensated.

Opponents of slavery reparations believe it is impossible to accurately and fairly identify who is negligent of the act and whose current situation is a direct result of slavery. In addition, slavery wasn't a crime until it was outlawed. Additionally, opponents to reparations say that the current US government was not in power during slavery and there is no way to hold Great Britain and other European countries accountable hundreds of years later. A final argument is that reparations have been paid in the form of the Civil Rights Act, as well as other government-backed programs that benefit minorities.

Furthermore, if we provide reparations to the descendants of black slaves, this could open the door to American Indians and Mexicans demanding reparations as well. Mormons could decide to demand reparations for the Haun's Mill Massacre and their forced expulsion from Missouri in 1838. There could be no end to the reparations circus.

And if we owe blacks reparations for the legacy of slavery, could it not also be said that blacks owe us reparations for the fact that they showed their gratitude for the Civil Rights Act of 1964 by burning down our cities? How about reparations for all the welfare they've collected and all the tax dollars we've spent housing and feeding them in our jails. We're still paying for that legacy, as well.

As for Barack Obama? In his most recent public statement in August 2008, he expressed opposition to reparations. But in earlier statements, he's been more ambiguous. Not to matter; Conyers' bill is currently penned up in the House Judiciary Committee and is unlikely to break out anytime soon.

But before we decide reparations could never happen, we should remember that we once thought gay marriage couldn't happen, either. We must remain vigilant and vocal.
