Anti-Defamation League Witch-Hunts Parkway West Middle School In Chesterfield, Missouri For "Anti-Semitism" After Recent "Hit A Jew Day" Student Prank
Since 1913, the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) has stood ready to create and exaggerate "anti-Semitism" at a moment's notice to foster its own self-perpetuation and to keep the donation spigot cranked wide open. Read the uncensored story about the ADL HERE.
And a recent student prank at Parkway West Middle School in the St. Louis suburb of Chesterfield, Missouri has provided yet another opportunity for the ADL to stick its nose in somebody's business. On October 24th, 2008, the ADL issued a press release proclaiming their "shock" and "distress" over the recent "Hit A Jew Day" at the school, in which a small number of Jewish students at the school were hit by fellow classmates. The St. Louis Unit of the ADL is already meeting with school officials to discuss a broad, structured program of anti-bias education and response. Undoubtedly, part of the "education" will include mass visits to the St. Louis Holocaust Museum and Learning Center, one of 24 such franchises in the United States.
"It is shocking and distressing to see anti-Semitism acted out by middle school students," said Karen Aroesty, ADL St. Louis Regional Director. "Our schools and schoolyards are places where respect and understanding should be the norm. We appreciate that administrators are responding swiftly and look forward to working with Parkway West Middle School to turn these incidents into teachable moments that will resonate both in the classroom and at home". And the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that Aroesty finally and grudgingly conceded that the students weren't deliberately anti-Semitic. [Ed. Note: I do not recall Aroesty expressing any similar outrage over "Beat Up A White Kid Day" during this past May 1st, do you?]
Once the ADL learned of the incident from the family of one of the victims, they immediately pounced. Representatives from the League's A WORLD OF DIFFERENCE® Institute will participate in the meeting with school officials. This institute promotes a full range of diversity indoctrination. According to a newer story from the Post-Dispatch, this meeting has now taken place without incident. CNN video embedded below:
But how did this incident happen, and is it as serious as the ADL believes? According to KSDK Channel 5 in St. Louis, it started out on Monday October 20th as "Hug A Friend Day" as part of an unofficial "spirit week" at the school. Then it became "High-Five Day". Finally, it became "Hit A Jew Day". But of the estimated 30 Jewish students out of a total of 850 students enrolled in the school, only three were confirmed to have been targeted. Two were merely tapped on the shoulder or arm, while only one was actually slapped. No injuries were sustained; no first aid required. Nevertheless, school principal Linda Lelonek, attempting to cover the school's tracks and to stave off the inevitable outsider diversity witch-hunt, immediately responded, convoking a school assembly on Tuesday morning to talk about religious diversity. School officials then began tracking down those responsible; a total of five students have been suspended, and "investigations" are continuing.

Analysis: As Shakespeare would say, much ado about nothing. It was basically a student prank that got out of hand. The school itself is imposing discipline; five students have already been suspended. But the ADL sees an opportunity to exploit the situation, fan the flames of anti-Semitism, and reap some publicity benefits. By their constant hectoring and witch-hunting, the ADL actually sows the seeds for more anti-Semitism than already exists.
They've got no legitimate dog in this fight. They should back off and let the school do its job.
