The date of the proposed rally has yet to be set. Most discussion has centered around a spring date, possibly Memorial Day weekend, or a fall date. Those familiar with Knoxville caution against a summer date because of the heat and humidity characteristic of the area. Alex Linder is the strongest promoter the idea of a Memorial Day rally. While a Memorial Day weekend rally date might be a bit too soon to allow the most thorough preparation, it will ensure its occurrence while local interest is still high. Interest may subside too much with the passage of time to make a fall date effective. (SPECIAL UPDATE: The date and time have now been set for May 26th, at 3:00 P.M., to take place downtown. Specific staging location to be released about a week before the rally.)
Not only are prominent members of VNN Forum expected to show up, but popular white nationalist radio host Hal Turner, absolutely undeterred by repeated hacker attacks on his site and difficulties with PayPal, has expressed his intent to attend and possibly deliver a speech. Turner was the lead figure in attendance at the Kingston rally held in 2005 in honor of local high school student Robbie Hedrick, himself a victim of black-on-white crime. American National Socialist Workers Party (ANSWP) Commander Bill White initially pledged ANSWP organizational support, although the precise nature of that support is yet to be specified. I would expect he would personally attend if there is no conflict with his incipient campaign for mayor of Roanoke. However, he seems to be wavering in his support over the issue of whether or not ANSWP cadre can wear full uniforms and the possible presence of David Duke. Surprisingly, the prospect of inviting April Gaede and her husband to bring Prussian Blue and possibly having them perform an impromptu concert has yet to be seriously discussed, although for April Gaede to agree to it, she would need reasonable assurances of the safety of Lynx and Lamb.
However, there are two complications:
1). The proposed May 26th date conflicts directly with the Second International Holocaust Conference being hosted in Hillsboro, WV by the National Alliance. As a result, some NA cadre, particularly the senior cadre, will be unable to attend the Knoxville rally.
2). The Stormfront White Nationalist Discussion Forum inexplicably and inexcusably is not only downplaying this rally, but seems to be denouncing it. I never thought I'd see the day in which the country's largest white nationalist venue, boasting nearly 100,000 members, would be equivocal about supporting a major pro-white event. Jack Boot, the screen name of the chief of staff and one of their moderators, posted the following:
As far as we know, there is no rally planned or scheduled in Knoxville concerning this crime. However if there are Stormfront people there who are willing to move forward with such plans we are listening.
As for the blog noises about such a rally, we should make it perfectly clear, again, that Stormfront will have nothing to do with any toxoid project or promoting any crazy-talking looneys, should any such people decide to go down there and rant from the courthouse steps
However, Jack Boot seems to be sending a mixed message. In the first paragraph, he implies that individual unofficial participation by individual forum members would not be unwelcome. The second paragraph seems to be raw meat that he's throwing at Don Black to keep him happy. Black has been conducting a slow purge of moderators, many of whom have fled to VNN. Jack Boot may be trying a balancing act to mitigate the worst aspects of Don Black's leadership and to assure a softer landing for Stormfront.
The murders: WWLT Channel 8 Knoxville has organized all the major stories connected with this event into a single page on their website. The following chronology of events is summarized from this page:
Saturday January 6th: Channon Christian and Christopher Newsom have dinner at a local restaurant. They subsequently plan to watch a movie at a friend's house, but never arrive. Channon's mother becomes worried and calls the Newsoms to say she is filing a missing person's report and that they should, as well. Unfortunately, it's already too late.
Sunday January 7th: A railroad worker finds Chris Newsom's body between Ninth and Cherry Streets along the tracks, but still no sign of Channon.
Monday January 8th: Christian's family, helping police search, locate her car along Glider Avenue, just down the tracks off Chipman Street.
Tuesday January 9th: 2316 Chipman street is swarming with investigators as they uncover Channon's body in a rental home, two blocks away from her abandoned car. Court records show the home is rented by Lemaricus Davidson and his brother, Letalvis Cobbins. Police immediately identify them as "persons of interest."
Thursday January 11th: Knox County, Kentucky state and federal authorities find Letalvis Cobbins and his friend, George Thomas at a home in Lebanon, Kentucky. Later that same day, Knoxville Police find Lemaricus Davidson at a home on Reynolds Street in the Mechanicsville area.
Friday January 12th: Authorities serve a fourth person, Eric Boyd, with a federal warrant. Boyd and Davidson make an appearance in federal court in Knoxville. Cobbins and Thomas make an initial appearance in a federal courtroom in Louisville, Kentucky. US Marshals in Western Kentucky call them all suspects in connection with at least some aspect of the double murder case. All four are being held by the Marshals Service. Because some suspects were found outside of Tennessee, it became a federal issue.
On February 1st, WWLT reported that a fifth person, identified as Vanessa Coleman, was arrested in Lebanon County, Kentucky, where two other suspects, George Thomas and Letalvis Cobbins, were arrested in mid-January. She was listed in an affadavit in support of a search warrant filed on January 22nd by Knoxville Police. According to the affadavit, police spoke with Vanessa Coleman, who informed them, "she was present with the victim Christian when she was being held within the residence at 2316 Chipman Street on and around January 6th and 7th, 2007".
According to the warrant, "during that time while the victim Christian was alive, she witnessed the victim's mouth being cleansed with some type of spray bottle of cleaning supply contained within the residence." Additionally, Coleman told investigators that she witnessed clothing stained of blood and smelling like gasoline being placed in the washing machine of the residence.
In another WWLT report updated on February 8th, Knox County District Attorney General Randy Nichols announced the list of charges facing now five suspects in the double murder of Channon Christian and Christopher Newsom. While Knox did not announce whether or not he would seek the death penalty, he did say the state will seek conviction for all charges filed in a 24-page indictment from the Knox County Grand Jury. Here's the lineup:
Note: Click HERE to view 24-page indictment in PDF format.
Lemaricus Davidson, 25, faces a total of 46 charges. Davidson was indicted on 16 counts of Felony Murder growing out of rape, robbery kidnapping and theft of Channon Christian and Chris Newsom, 2 counts premeditated murder of Christian and Newsom, 2 counts especially aggravated robberies from Christian and Newsom, 4 counts especially aggravated kidnapping of Christian and Newsom, 20 counts aggravated rape of Christian and Newsom, and 2 counts of theft from Christian and Newsom.
Letalvis Cobbins, 24, faces a total of 46 charges. Cobbins was indicted on 16 counts of Felony Murder growing out of rape, robbery kidnapping and theft of Channon Christian and Chris Newsom, 2 counts premeditated murder of Christian and Newsom, 2 counts especially aggravated robberies from Christian and Newsom, 4 counts especially aggravated kidnapping of Christian and Newsom, 20 counts aggravated rape of Christian and Newsom, and 2 counts of theft from Christian and Newsom.
George Thomas, 24, faces a total of 46 charges. Thomas was indicted on 16 counts of Felony Murder growing out of rape, robbery kidnapping and theft of Channon Christian and Chris Newsom, 2 counts premeditated murder of Christian and Newsom, 2 counts especially aggravated robberies from Christian and Newsom, 4 counts especially aggravated kidnapping of Christian and Newsom, 20 counts aggravated rape of Christian and Newsom, and 2 counts of theft from Christian and Newsom.
Just last night, police in Lebanon, Kentucky, arrested 18-year-old Vanessa Coleman. She faces 40 Tennessee state charges. Coleman was indicted on 12 counts Felony Murder growing out of rape, robbery kidnapping and theft of Channon Christian and Chris Newsom, 1 count Premeditated Murder of Christian only, 1 count Especially Aggravated Robbery of Newsom only, 4 counts especially aggravated kidnapping of Christian and Newsom, 20 counts of aggravated rape of Christian and Newsom and 2 Counts of theft from Christian and Newsom.
Eric Boyd, 24, also arrested in connection with the fatal carjacking, only faces federal charges as an accessory after the fact. He was not indicted by Knox county grand jury.
Felony Murder carries a possibility of death, life without the possibility of parole and life with parole. Especially Aggravated Robbery is a Class A felony that carries a possibility of 15 to 60 years in prison. Aggravated Rape is a Class A felony that carries a possibility of 15 to 60 years of prison.
Also on February 8th: US Attorneys surprisingly ask to drop federal charges against three men held in connection with the fatal carjacking of Channon Christian and Chris Newsom. According to the court documents, the feds wish the court to dismiss carjacking and gun charges against Davidson and his half brother Letalvis Cobbins. The feds also want the accessory charge against George Thomas thrown out. An accessory charge, carrying up to a 15-year sentence, would still be prosecuted against Eric Boyd. He was the only one not indicted by a Knox County Grand Jury last week.
According to the motion, the feds want to clear the way for local prosecutors to prosecute Davidson, Cobbins, Thomas, and a fourth person not indicted federally, Vanessa Coleman. However, as a precaution, the feds are asking a judge to drop the charges with prejudice, meaning they could be re-filed at a later date.
These are the significant events attendant to the case; the WWLT website also lists subsequent appearances and motions. Unfortunately, the legalese syntax fails to convey the sheer horror and barbarity of these crimes. Fortunately, the American Patriots for Truth and Equality (APFTE) website cuts through the legalism and translates it into plain English. Here's their account, along with their assessment of the reportage:
The animals pictured [in the flyer] above "allegedly" raped Christopher Newsom, cut off his penis, then set him on fire and fatally shot him several times while they forced his girlfriend, Channon Christian, to watch it happen. An even more cruel fate awaited her...
Channon Christian, was beaten and gang-raped in many ways for four days by all of them, while they took turns urinating on her. Then they cut off her breast and put chemicals in her mouth ... and then murdered her. [Ed. Note: Did you see the phrase "four days"? This means she endured four days of hell at the hands of these barbaric niggers. That's right! Niggers! I normally avoid the use of such racial slurs, but the term was tailor-made for scum like these. A human being does NOT torture someone for four days!!!]
The mainstream media coverage of these murders have been glaringly absent from network television and nationwide newspapers. What coverage is available is watered down with legalese and charges. The coverage neglects to tell America how brutally and senselessly these young people were murdered.
The news media will show us the hanging of Saddam Hussein and the beheading of Nick Berg, but they won't show or even tell us about the atrocities that were committed by 5 black "youths" on two white youths.
Is reporting black on white crime politically incorrect?
You better believe it is.
The media in the US and most white, western-European counties no longer performs its job of "reporting the news. Instead, they propagandize. They are extremely selective about which stories they report and even more selective in HOW those stories are reported.
The news coverage today done by the major networks is specifically designed to shape and mold your view of the world; to manipulate the way you perceive things and how you think. This story is proof.
Remember back in 1998, when three evil white guys in Jasper, Texas chained a black man, James Byrd, Jr. to the back of a pick-up truck and dragged him three miles to his death?
Sure you do!
We all do!
That's because the mainstream media covered the story for weeks at a time. They never let up with the "white against black hate stories."
Yet here we are in 2007, five blacks are guilty of a far more hateful crime against two whites and barely a word out of the media.
There's also an interesting e-mail exchange between WWLT anchor Gordon Boyd and "Yankee Jim" Leshkevich posted on The Hudson Valley Freeman blog. Boyd seems bound and determined not to let his city become another "Toledo".
And this is why Alex Linder and his Vanguard News Network are taking the lead in organizing a memorialization rally. However, this is not a white nationalist issue. Neither Channon Christian nor Chris Newsom were known to be white nationalists or even sympathetic towards the cause. This is a white COMMUNITY issue.
And that's why this rally is worthy of support by the entire white community. The Latinos put 500,000 of their people on the street in Los Angeles on behalf of illegal immigrants last year. The blacks had their "Million Man March" shepherded by Louis Farrakhan years ago. What's wrong with us? Why can't we do the same?
You don't have to become a white nationalist to assist and participate. You will not be expected to wear a swastika armband, march under a swastika flag, or don hood and robe. The only price of admission is an open mind, a stout heart and a willing spirit. If not you, WHO? If not now, WHEN? If you want to help, visit the Vanguard News Network Forum, register for an account, then log in and contribute to the ideas and pledges being gathered in the designated sub-forum. Related comments on VNN Forum also imply that fair-minded people of other races would be welcome to attend.
